Georgia Athanasiou
Georgia Athanasiou is a lawyer with an active presence in public dialogue and policy making. As President of Oxygen for Democracy, member of Zenox Public Affairs and founding member of Cyprus Forum, she is committed to strengthening democratic institutions and citizen participation through meaningful and evidence-based dialogue in Cyprus.

Nicolas Kyriakides
Nicolas Kyriakides is a lawyer, academic and policy expert, passionate about democratic reform and the future of Cyprus. Through his work as a lawyer, his academic position and as the founder of the Cyprus Forum, he is dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions and justice through meaningful dialogue in Cyprus and beyond.

Antonis Marios Kyriakides
Tony Kyriakides is a practising lawyer at Harris Kyriakides, one of Cyprus’ leading law firms. His practice focuses on real estate and employment law. He regularly advises institutional clients on complex legal matters and represents them before national courts. As a board member of Oxygen for Democracy, Tony supports the organisation’s mission to promote inclusive, evidence-based, and transparent policymaking in Cyprus. He is particularly committed to the role of legal reform in strengthening democratic processes and institutional accountability, and contributes his legal expertise to the organisation’s governance, outreach, and strategic planning activities.

Theodoros Assiotis
Theodoros Assiotis is a senior executive in corporate services and finance, with over 15 years of experience in accounting, corporate governance and confidentiality services. He is currently a managing director and country manager at an international professional services firm. A member of ACCA and ICPAC, Theodoros is actively involved in civic initiatives through Oxygono, contributing to democratic dialogue through Cyprus Forum and Nomoplatform.

Stefanos Kyprianou
Stefanos Kyprianou is a member of the Board of Directors of Oxygen for Democracy, an organisation that promotes participatory democracy and political transparency in Cyprus. He is also a co-founder of APLA, an organisation that aims to raise political awareness among young people and promote digital democracy. He served as Speaker of the House of Young Representatives and has experience in European politics, having chaired committees in the Model European Parliament. He is a lawyer and currently works as a Business Systems Analyst at Capacitor Partners and led initiatives to create digital democracy tools in the Republic of Cyprus.

Theodoros Assiotis

Maria Xiouri
Maria Xiouri is an accountant with five years of experience in the field of accounting and financial management. She works at Harris Kyriakides, a law firm in Cyprus, where she is responsible for the bookkeeping of the group companies. She is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Cyprus and holds a Higher Diploma in Accounting with honours. Within the association, she supports the accounting of the group, contributing to its smooth and transparent operation.
Advisory Committee
Our organisation is supported by a 30-member Advisory Committee, consisting of people from academia, business, institutions and society. The Committee contributes to the strategic orientation of the organisation, providing informed input and enhancing the transparency and accountability of our actions.
Officers

George Isaia
George Isaia is the Executive Director of Oxygen for Democracy, where he coordinates actions to promote participatory democracy, transparency and the rule of law. With a degree in Philosophy and Political Science, he works to improve institutions and strengthen democratic governance. He also serves as an independent special advisor to Zenox Public Affairs, providing strategic guidance on policy and governance issues, and is an advisor to the Citizens' Commissioner on issues related to democratic participation and citizenship.

Angeliki Kourri
Angeliki is a Policy Officer at Oxygen for Democracy. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Cyprus and a master’s degree in International Relations from University College Dublin. She has previously worked at the Office of the Commissioner for Administration and the Protection of Human Rights and at the Center for Gender Equality and History. Her main interests, among others, relate to peacebuilding and reconciliation in divided societies, human rights, and gender issues.

Avgoustinos Kitromilidis
Avgoustinos is a graduate of the School of Engineering at the University of Patras, holding a degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. From his student years, he has been actively involved in public affairs, starting with the Student Union of Cypriots in Patras (F.E.KY.PA) and eventually becoming a member of the Committee on European and Foreign Affairs in the Youth Parliament of Cyprus. He completed an internship (Blue Book Traineeship) at the European Commission, specifically within the Executive Agency of the European Research Council (ERCEA). He then undertook another internship at the European Parliament, where he gained extensive knowledge of the workings of European institutions. Currently, he works at Oxygen for Democracy as a Policy Officer and Operations Executive of one of the organization’s flagship programs, Nomoplatform.

Philippos Empedokli
Philippos Empedokli is the Communications & Events Manager at Oxygen for Democracy, where he oversees strategic communication efforts and coordinates events that promote democratic engagement and civic participation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Internet Studies from the Cyprus University of Technology, graduating with distinction. With a solid background in digital media and public affairs, he is committed to fostering inclusive dialogue and supporting initiatives that strengthen democratic institutions.
